Federalist Papers - What Are the Writers of the Federalist Papers?The Federalist Papers is a compilation of letters written by some of the key individuals involved in the ratification process of the Constitution. In fact, Samuel Adams was the first one to write a letter supporting the Constitution. Most of the Federalist Papers were written by John Jay, Alexander Hamilton, George Mason, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson.James Madison was the leading figure behind the creation of the Judiciary Department and later became the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He also drafted the Bill of Rights. A combination of letters, including the Federalist Papers, on how to maintain a government that was not influenced by corruption, were known as the Federalist Papers.A large number of these papers were eventually published by G. M. Trevelyan in 1840. This book included the letter to the Marquis de Lafayette by John Jay.
