Achieving a Powerful English Essay

Achieving a Powerful English EssayIf you're writing an English essay, there are a number of things you can do to make it a more effective work of literature. Your essay should not be difficult to read; your essay should be useful and educational, and it should be written in a style that is easy for you to understand. It is your responsibility as an English essay writer to find out what makes essays successful and in some cases even make them more successful.First, you should know what to do to make your essay short, sweet, and to the point. Be concise; don't put in too much information that's not needed. No one wants to spend their time reading about that old man who went to school in Philadelphia. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you need to write grammatically, you need to use good grammar, and if you have to, you need to write with a dictionary to look up the meaning of words you're using in your essay. This will make your essay far more readable and more effective than someone w ho doesn't take proper care to write their essays. You should also be very careful in what you choose to use for examples in your essay. If you take out an example from a textbook because it might not apply to your topic or your case, you are only doing yourself a disservice. This is even more important if you are writing in a foreign language and you aren't completely comfortable using examples in a foreign context.English teachers use examples throughout their courses because they show you that an idea is not new, but rather that the idea has been done before. By having examples, it is easier to see what the idea is not and what is. It is also easier to take note of similarities in your examples and in your ideas. The next thing you need to do as an English essay writer is to be descriptive and toexplain your thesis clearly. Describe your argument, but do so in such a way that it will help your reader understand your concept. You don't have to bore them with too much detail, but you do need to describe your idea and then move on to describe your reasons for supporting that idea. You should also realize that you will likely have to change and edit your essay. You might need to make minor changes because you got an idea wrong or you had to eliminate an example because it didn't apply to your situation. However, keep your eye on the prize: your main point, and then do your best to make it work.Lastly, know that you can improve your essay by practicing. This is especially true if you know that your idea is weak and that you don't have a strong thesis statement.
